Janet's Planet: Music Lessons for Humanoids, Inc. Presents:
"Let's Put On A Show!" - Kids Create & Perform an Original Musical

Gabriella was totally shy about singing in front of people, even her friends. Then, Paula helped her make up a song.  Not only did she have a blast writing it, she was so excited by what she'd accomplished, she sang it out loud without a thought of who was watching and listening.

If that sounds like the kind of experience you’d like your child to have, then you'll want to check this out:

This summer will be the inaugural season of “Let’s Put On A Show!” - Kids Create and Perform An Original Musical. The program, designed for kids ages 6 - 12,  will be offered in 5 one week sessions.  Each week will have a special theme.

In the course of the week, Paula and Janet will help the kids:

  1. Choose a story and use improv games to create a script with a part for everyone

  2. Write the lyrics and melody for songs that support the story

  3. Get coaching on how to deal with stage fright

  4. Learn how to give constructive feedback and be nice at the same time

  5. Rehearse for a  Friday performance for families and friends

While your kids are working together to create and perform a show, they’ll have a chance to make new friends  in a supportive, non-competitive environment.  It’s also a chance to have a blast with old friends.

At the end of the week, every child will go home with a copy of the script they helped create and families will receive a link to download a video of the performance.

“Let’s Put On A Show!” meets Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at The Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford, 147 High Street, Medford, Mass.

We set the program up with a half day schedule to accommodate the normal attention span of a group of kids participating in a special activity.  It also helps sustain an enthusiastic, energy infused environment.

By the end of our time together each day, the kids will be thrilled with the work they’ve done during the day and psyched to begin again tomorrow, or even the following week to create a new show.

Early Bird Price - $175 per week if you register by Friday, April 27th

After April 27th, tuition will be $195

Space is limited.
